NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NGC) is a globally recognised qualification that provides a practical foundation in workplace health and safety.

The course gives learners the knowledge and confidence to identify risks, control hazards, and contribute to safer working environments.

This qualification meets the academic requirements for Technician Membership (Tech IOSH) of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Associate Membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).

This is a two-week course delivered across two separate weeks, allowing delegates time to consolidate their learning between sessions.

This globally recognised course is ideal for managers, supervisors, and staff who have responsibility for managing health and safety as part of their role.

It provides a comprehensive understanding of workplace health and safety principles and is one of the most widely requested qualifications by employers across many industries.

The NEBOSH National General Certificate is based on UK legislation. If you intend to work internationally, the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) may be more suitable.

The qualification consists of two assessments:

• Unit GNC1: Management of Health and Safety
• Unit GNC2: Risk Assessment

Delegates must achieve a Pass in each unit to be awarded the qualification.

A certificate is achieved through the successful completion of:

• An Open Book Examination (online)
• A practical assessment (completed in their own time)

Once an online course has been accessed via our Learning Management System (LMS), deferrals or cancellations cannot be made.
